The KORG nanoKEY2 USB MIDI Keyboard is a compact and portable controller keyboard that offers a good experience for its price point. While the keys may feel a bit loose and rattly, they work well in practice and the velocity sensitivity is useful. The editor software provided by Korg is a bit crude but functional. One thing to note is that this device is a USB client only, so if you want to connect it directly to something like the Elektron Model: Cycles, you will need additional equipment like the Retrokits RK-006. However, once you have the connection sorted out, this controller keyboard is a useful addition to your setup. The Nanopad is responsive and has a great feel, particularly for mapping melodic lines for stringed instruments. It is also great for beat making and comes with a new XY Pad feature that is super responsive. The Nanopad integrates seamlessly with Mainstage and the assignment is intuitive. Overall, the KORG nanoKEY2 USB MIDI Keyboard is a good choice for those who need a compact and affordable controller keyboard for their music production setup.
