- My Stupid Intentions is like an autobiographical novel by a boulder named Archy. Archy, who was born in poverty and became disabled as a result of an accident, was sold as a slave by his mother to the loan shark Solomon.Although Archy's life changes thanks to Solomon's guidance, time, reading and writing, learning the truth of death and coming to terms with God, he longs for an existence guided by his instincts. Archy aspires to be a real animal. Is there a way for him to forget what he has learned, or will writing be the solution..The novel by Italian writer Bernardo Zannoni is the story of the wild world where animals talk and watch over their nests, but never escape the struggle for survival. A reading experience with similar themes to Albert Camus' Stranger and Collodi's Pinocchio...Despite its fairytale-like vibe, My Stupid Intentions isn't such a cute story at all... Life in Archy's world is a constant struggle for survival; While Zannoni's story shows that thinking and instinct have other meanings for animals, it encourages the reader to consider how different their world really is. The new yorkerMy Stupid Intentions are completely different from ordinary fairy tales; while there is a fantastic trend in this anthropomorphic narrative, there is no room for fun moves or moral lessons... Zannoni uses Archy's contradictory nature to explore a range of philosophically rich themes such as free will, God and death. The rumpusZannoni wrote an anthropomorphic picaresque novel, but this definition does not do justice to the novel.
