What are the specifications of the Arlen Ness 10" Risers, Black?

The Arlen Ness 10" Risers are designed for a perfect balance between style and functionality. Constructed from high-quality aluminum, these risers feature a sleek black finish that complements a variety of bike styles. They have a 1-inch diameter and provide a substantial height increase, ideal for riders looking to enhance their comfort and control. These risers also come with mounting hardware, making them suitable for easy installation on many motorcycle styles.

How do I install the Arlen Ness 10" Risers?

Installing the Arlen Ness 10" Risers typically involves a few basic steps. First, you will need to remove the existing handlebars and the top clamp. Next, install the risers onto the existing fork tubes, ensuring they fit snugly. Follow that by reattaching the handlebars and top clamp to the new risers. It's recommended to check handlebar alignment and ensure all fastenings are secure. This upgrade gives riders improved ergonomics, particularly on longer rides.

What types of motorcycles are compatible with the Arlen Ness 10" Risers?

The Arlen Ness 10" Risers are versatile and generally compatible with a wide range of motorcycles, particularly those with standard 1-inch handlebars. While they can fit many models from brands like Harley-Davidson and Indian, it's essential to confirm specifics regarding your motorcycle’s model year and handlebar dimensions. These risers provide a more commanding riding position and help enhance visibility, leading to a more enjoyable riding experience.

What is the purpose of using risers on a motorcycle?

Risers serve primarily to elevate the handlebars, facilitating a more comfortable riding position for the rider. By increasing the height of the handlebars, they allow for a more relaxed posture, reducing strain on the back and arms during long rides. Additionally, risers can help improve control and handling, particularly on sportier models, enhancing the overall riding experience through better visibility and comfort.

Can I use stock cables with the Arlen Ness 10" Risers?

While stock cables might work with the Arlen Ness 10" Risers, it's often advisable to check their length and tension after installation. The increase in height may require additional cable slack or a cable reroute for optimal performance. This helps ensure smooth operation of controls without unnecessary stress. Ensuring cables are adequately adjusted not only enhances aesthetics but also promotes safety and functionality.

Do the Arlen Ness 10" Risers come with installation hardware?

Yes, the Arlen Ness 10" Risers come complete with all necessary installation hardware. This typically includes bolts and spacers, streamlining the installation process. Having everything you need in one package means you don’t have to search for additional parts, making it more convenient for motorcycle enthusiasts looking to upgrade their handlebars. This is particularly useful for DIY installations, allowing riders to customize their bikes at home.

What is the weight of the Arlen Ness 10" Risers?

The Arlen Ness 10" Risers are designed to be lightweight, weighing approximately 2-3 pounds, depending on the specific version. This lightweight construction does not compromise durability; instead, it enhances handling. Riders will appreciate how these risers do not add excess weight to their motorcycle, thereby maintaining agility while benefiting from the raised handlebars for a more comfortable riding experience.

Are the Arlen Ness 10" Risers adjustable?

The Arlen Ness 10" Risers are not adjustable in height but are fixed at 10 inches to provide a specific ergonomic advantage. This ensures a consistent riding position that many riders find beneficial. While some may prefer adjustable risers for flexibility, fixed risers offer reliability in support and maintain a clean, streamlined look without the complications of adjustment mechanisms.

What colors are available for the Arlen Ness 10" Risers?

The Arlen Ness 10" Risers are primarily available in a sleek black finish, which resonates well with many custom bike aesthetics while providing a modern touch. While black is a popular choice due to its versatile nature, it’s advisable to check with local retailers or the manufacturer's website for any special editions or additional color options, which might enhance the personalized look of your motorcycle.
