The Hayward SP1070FV Float Valve Assembly is a replacement part specifically designed for use with the Hayward 1070 Series skimmer. It serves two purposes; first, if the water level is too low and will cause pump starvation, it creates a seal and prevents this by diverting the water source to the main drain at the bottom of the pool. Second, it allows control of the flow from the skimmer to the pump. Installation is straightforward, but it is recommended that the old black O-ring is removed, and the new one is installed with O-Ring lubricant to keep it in place. Ensure you have the correct sized float valve assembly; otherwise, it will float up and not stay down.
