It is wireless but requires a wireless access point to work. Connection to Dish Network and home network was easy for most customers, and the product has worked fine for many. However, some customers had problems with set up and connection, and found issues with the requirement to pay a ongoing monthly fee for use. Customers wishing to use the Wireless Joey with their hopper and some pre-existing joeys should confirm their compatibility with Dish.
