TinyCircuits Portable TVs Editorial Review
The TinyTV DIY kit is an adorable and impressive gadget that allows you to customize your own television with your preferred media on a tiny 1.4" screen. It comes with a preloaded SD card that has vintage films and shorts but can be adapted for individual files through the .tsv converter downloaded from their website. The television set automatically plays on power up to the default channel, and the channels can be cycled through with a remote. It can also run indefinitely off of USB power. There are a few downsides to the TinyTV set, such as the lack of audio through Bluetooth earbuds or automatic channel toggling. Additionally, some find the product not worth it due to its small size and cost. However, for miniature dollhouse enthusiasts, the TinyTV is recommended as it adds a touch of realism. The build is simple enough with a guide video and instructions but be careful of the textured shell which will show through the finish. Some buyers have experienced an issue with the boards not clicking together properly, but the prompt customer service resolves the issues. Overall, buyers are pleased with their purchases, and the TinyTV DIY kit is a great project for anyone who enjoys fun and unique DIY projects.
