Siblings Editorial Review
**** The "Max and Ruby" series, particularly "Max's Breakfast," has garnered a warm reception from parents and their young children alike. This beloved series, which has entertained generations, continues to resonate due to its charming characters and simple yet clever storytelling. Readers appreciate its ability to engage toddlers, with many parents recounting the joy of reading these books to their kids and now their grandkids, underscoring the timeless appeal of Max and Ruby. The board book format is particularly favored for its durability, making it ideal for little hands. The artwork, though noted as softer with a more pastel palette compared to previous editions, still captivates young audiences and provokes joy during reading time. The minimalist text provides an inviting experience for both children and caregivers, enabling little ones to partake in storytelling by "reading back" to the adult—a testament to its success in fostering early literacy skills and engagement. However, while the shortness of the text can lead to repeated enjoyment, there are some critiques regarding the lack of quotation marks which may slightly hinder the ease of reading aloud. Nonetheless, this book is still Considered a delightful and effective choice for instilling a love of reading in toddlers, making it an excellent addition to any young child's library. **
